Maheni Arthur is a poet and visual artist from South London. She graduated from the University of Gloucestershire in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Linguistics, with studies focused on the linguistic and social science of human language.

Maheni draws inspiration for her writing from her personal life, writing spoken word poetry and prose that explores themes of mental health, relationships, identity, womanhood and social culture.

Maheni has been performing her work at open mics and private events since 2017; she is currently working on a poetry collection with a view to independently publish, and continues to work on creative projects that fuse poetry, performance, and visual art.
