The Year We Had
Over six months in 2021, we at Stockroom have been working with theatre freelancers across the country to produce six extraordinary films that chart the common experiences of non-salaried theatre workers during the pandemic.
Partnering with filmmakers The Other Richard, Stockroom utilised its national network to find and commission these freelancers to illustrate their experiences of the last twelve months through the medium of film. Each was partnered with a writer in Stockroom’s salaried writers room to create a script based on their story, which has performed and filmed in and around their local theatre
The Year We Had brings together these works to tell the stories of this workforce and to show the extraordinary contribution it has made to our culture and society over the last year.
