Last year, when we were at the St James Theatre with Our Country’s Good, our accompanying readings proved popular and rewarding, so we’re delighted to offer a new series this year. This is your opportunity to catch up with previous work by This May Hurt A Bit writer Stella Feehily – and to enjoy exclusive previews of future Out of Joint productions.

Bridgend is known as the hometown and first club of international rugby star Gareth “Alfie” Thomas, the first openly gay Rugby Union player. The town, and surrounding county, also became famous for a shocking number of suicides among young people. Based on extensive interviews with Alfie and many people from the town, Crouch Touch Pause Engage tells their stories in a play about loss, change and hope.

A first chance to hear this play by Robin Soans, whose acclaimed documentary plays include Talking to Terrorists, Mixed Up North and The Arab Israeli Cookbook.

Stella Feehily’s first full length play was a hit at the Edinburgh Festival and Royal Court. A gloriously sparky story about two teenage girls in Dublin, with very different futures: How do you learn to be good when your elders aren’t necessarily your betters?

Romance and confusion abound in this comedy about a young Irishman in London. Love and a Bottle was an early success from the author The Recruiting Officer and The Beaux’ Stratagem. Stella Feehily’s new version adds depth and richness to Farquhar’s playful debut.
