Call-out from friends of Stockroom: Assistant Director
1st Jan 2024
From friends of Stockroom: A Call-Out for an Assistant Director for a rehearsed reading of a new play, written by Christopher York and directed by Debbie Hannan.
Open Call: Assistant Director
We are looking for Female Identifying artists from Yorkshire and The North East to be a part of a rehearsed reading for a new play.
The Play
Mary & Pam are newly widowed. Mary & Pam are ‘on the pull’. Grandmothers to the same grandchildren, our ‘grand-sisters’ in arms make a pact to ‘not go gentle into that goodnight’, drinking and dancing is on the agenda. However their adventures hit a speed-bump, when unbeknownst to one another, Mary & Pam begin dating the same man.
The play is based on the true story of writer Christopher York’s grandmothers Mary Dobson and Pamela White.
Set in Yorkshire, the rom-com celebrates the pair’s sisterhood and gives them the last dance they never had.
