40 years after Alan Bleasdale’s ground-breaking television series was essential viewing, Stockroom and Liverpool’s Royal Court are delighted to present an unmissable, powerful new adaptation by James Graham, writer of the hit BBC series Sherwood.

Over the past six months leading UK touring theatre company Stockroom has been working with theatre freelancers across the country to produce six extraordinary films that chart the common experiences of non-salaried theatre workers during the pandemic. During that time, Stockroom, working alongside filmmakers The Other Richard, called on its network of regional partner theatres across the country to nominate freelancers, with whom they have been working during the pandemic, to provide the stories that form the basis of each of these films. Each of the selected freelancers was partnered with a writer, from Stockroom’s salaried writers room, to collaborate on a script that illustrated their experiences of the last twelve months. The partner theatres then generously handed over their stages, foyers and resources for the filming that took place in and around each venue.

Out of Joint, Cast, Doncaster and Kiln Theatre, London today announced the full cast for their national tour and London run of The Glee Club. Joining Bill Ward who plays Bant, will be Joshua Hayes (Breakneck Bronco – Soho Theatre, A Wondrous Place - Sheffield Theatres/Royal Exchange/Northern Spirit) as Walt Hemmings, Robert Jackson (She Ventures and He Wins – The Young Vic, Kiss Me Kate – The Watermill Theatre) as Scobie, Linford Johnson (The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe – Bridge Theatre, Much Ado About Nothing – Northern Broadsides) as Colin Shuttleworth, Kai Owen (Torchwood – BBC TV, The Full Monty – UK tour) as Jack Horsfall and Eamonn Riley (Martha, Josie and The Chinese Elvis – Stephen Joseph Theatre, Our Town – The Royal Exchange) as Phil Newsome. This new production of Richard Cameron’s play is directed by Out Of Joint’s artistic director Kate Wasserberg.

Out of Joint, Cast, Doncaster and Kiln Theatre, London announced to today that star of Coronation Street and Emmerdale and respected stage actor Bill Ward will lead the cast of their national tour and London run of The Glee Club.

This spring, Out of Joint joins forces with Cast, Doncaster and Kiln Theatre, London to present a major tour, followed by a London run of Richard Cameron’s much-celebrated play The Glee Club.

Out of Joint today announces that they will host open auditions in Bradford on 16 January 2019 for the role of Rita, in their Spring tour of Rita, Sue and Bob Too. Dunbar’s ground-breaking play, directed in 2017 by Out of Joint’s Artistic Director Kate Wasserberg and co-produced with Royal Court Theatre and Octagon Theatre Bolton was seen by over 30,000 people across the country.

Out of Joint, Hackney Empire and COMMON announce ROUTES IN, an event which aims to increase accessibility for people from working-class backgrounds to build sustainable careers in UK theatre. Out of Joint, Hackney Empire and COMMON are inviting decision-makers in the theatre industry and young people from working-class backgrounds to an event taking place on 4th February 2019 at Hackney Empire.
